Anna Palin-Swift

Anna is an integrative therapist specialising in working with sexual addiction and compulsivity, as well as relationship difficulties. She is Co-Director of Cedars Therapy Institute, which offers a range of specialist training opportunities. These include programmes supporting established therapists to begin working with relationships, alongside the UK’s first accredited Diploma in Working with Sex Addiction, which explores both individual and couples-based approaches.

Anna began her career by completing an MSc in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Relationship Therapy while working as a relationship therapist with Relate. She provided therapy both in person and through Relate’s Live Chat and Email a Counsellor services for several years.

While working with couples and relationships in private practice, Anna became increasingly aware of the prevalence and impact of sexual compulsivity. This led her to complete the Level 5 Diploma in Working with Sex Addiction and to develop this area as a central part of her therapeutic practice.

In 2019, Anna founded Emotional Wellbeing Group, also known as EWG Counselling. This not-for-profit counselling and mental health organisation provides accessible, low-cost mental health support through an integrative approach.

Anna has served on the ATSAC Board for seven years. She remains passionate about ensuring that individuals and couples can access support that is appropriate to their needs, while also increasing public awareness and understanding of sexual addiction and compulsivity. She is particularly interested in helping ATSAC provide a diverse range of training, resources and information for professionals working in this specialist field.
